At least seven people have been confirmed dead following an attack by an armed group along Eledimtu-Forole Road in Marsabit county. Eastern regional police commander Charles Naibei said they are yet to establish the motive of the attack that happened near the Ethopia-Kenya boarder on Monday, August 12.
Report filed at Forolle Police Station indicates a lorry carrying nine passengers was ambushed by an armed group, leading to the tragic deaths of seven people who included two minors from a local secondary school. The attackers shot at the vehicle indiscriminately, before setting it ablaze and burning some of the bodies beyond recognition.
