A late-night explosion caused by an incendiary device rocked the Ministry of Rural Development building on Syngrou Avenue in Athens on Saturday, October 11, 2025, resulting in significant material damage but no injuries.
Security footage obtained by MEGA captured the moment four unidentified individuals placed the device, consisting of four gas canisters, outside the ministry’s entrance just before midnight. The perpetrators fled the scene seconds before the explosion, which shattered the glass entrance, damaged the ground-floor glass door, and destroyed protective light fixtures.
