A large-scale evacuation was under way in the southern German city of Nuremberg on Friday evening ahead of the planned disposal of a World War II aerial bomb.
The city announced that road closures within a radius of 800 metres of the site were necessary. Up to 21,000 residents would have to leave their homes, the city said, adding that this was the largest evacuation operation required in Nuremberg following the discovery of a World War II bomb.
