In Hamburg, an aerial bomb from the Second World War was defused on Monday evening. The explosive ordnance disposal service of the fire department had found the 500-pound unexploded bomb in the afternoon during exploratory work at the foot of the Köhlbrand Bridge in the Neuhof district.
In preparation for the defusal, the police closed the Köhlbrand Bridge from 7:30 p.m. onwards. The fire department’s situation center triggered the modular warning system MoWaS to inform the population. Within a radius of 500 meters, companies had to adjust their production, but evacuations were not necessary.
