Azerbaijan neutralises over 600 explosives in Karabakh


The Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) has released its latest weekly update detailing clearance operations across formerly occupied territories. Between May 19 to 25, ANAMA specialists conducted large-scale demining activities in several regions, including Tartar, Aghdara, Kalbajar, Aghdam, Khojaly, Khankendi, Khojavend, Lachin, Shusha, Fuzuli, Gubadli, Jabrayil, and Zangilan.

A total of 80 anti-personnel mines, 52 anti-tank mines, and 683 unexploded ordnance were located and rendered safe during this period. The agency reports that an area spanning approximately 1,795.7 hectares was cleared of mines and unexploded munitions as part of the ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and rehabilitation of liberated regions.
