7 KDF soldiers killed in Kenya-Somalia border


Seven Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldiers were killed on Sunday, May 6, after their vehicle was blown off by a powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED). TUKO.co.ke understands two other soldiers sustained serious injuries in the incident which took place in Dhobley town, located between the border of Kenya and Somalia.

The officers are reported to have been part of a convoy which was conducting a routine surveillance exercise when their vehicle ran over the explosive.

Photos from the scene of the incident showed the vehicle which ran over the explosive extensively ripped off, with military sources indicating it was the only automobile hit by the IED.
