Travelers at Denver International Airport Monday got a taste of new security screening procedures that eventually will be required of everyone boarding a plane in the Mile High City and at 279 other airports worldwide.
Transportation Security Administration agents in the Jeppesen Terminal asked passengers to remove all electronic devices larger than a cellphone from their bags for set them in bins with nothing atop or below them for more detailed X-ray screenings, according to traveler reports. The procedure is the same as has been used for laptop computers and is intended to provided a clearer images of the expanding variety of electronic devices flyers are packing in sometimes cluttered carry-on bags.
