New Jersey: Denville explosives suspect accused of creating an explosives laboratory remains in custody


The Denville man accused of creating an explosives laboratory, has been ordered to remain in custody pending trial after a judge concluded the evidence recovered from his home posed “grave risks” to the community. The decision followed a two-hour pretrial detention hearing Tuesday in Superior Court in Morristown.

The suspect was arrested on June 24, 2026, and is charged with second-degree recklessly risking widespread injury or damage, two counts of unlawful possession of assault firearms, four counts of possession of destructive devices and one count of fourth-degree unlawful possession of large-capacity magazines.
