Myanmar: Civilians Injured in Improvised Explosive Device Explosions


On 28 April 2026 at 7:00 AM, Ko Kyaw Paing (24 years old), a resident of Yar Phu (Haung) Village in Yebyu Township of Tanintharyi Region, was returning home from a rubber plantation about four miles north of the village. After he reached an area near the village cemetery, he stepped on an improvised explosive device planted by so-called PDF terrorists.

As a result, Ko Kyaw Paing sustained shrapnel injuries and was transported to Ye Township Public Hospital in Mon State for medical treatment. Similarly, at 2:45 PM, on the same day, a report stated that a man with shrapnel injuries was admitted to Sao San Tun Hospital in Taungyi Township of Shan State.The victim was on his way to his yard, located about one mile south of the village, he stepped on an IED planted by so-called PDF terrorists near the yard, resulting in his injuries.
