Somalia, Ethiopia ink defense cooperation deal to counter terrorism


The defense ministers of Somalia and Ethiopia have signed a new memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen their defense cooperation and joint efforts to promote peace and security in the Horn of Africa.

The MoU, which was signed in Addis Ababa on Wednesday, is a renewal of the previous agreement that was signed in February, 2014. It covers areas such as military training, intelligence sharing, counter-terrorism, maritime security, and humanitarian assistance.
