Association of the Republic of Korea Army (AROKA), who had been holding DX KOREA – Defense Expo, Korea, will start under the new name ‘KADEX – Korea Army International Defense Industry Exhibition’.
AROKA said on the September 15th, 2023 that KADEX will be held at KINTEX Exhibition Hall 2 in Ilsan and Army Training Center from September 25 to 29 next year. The title of ‘DX KOREA’ will not be used due to expiration of the contract with the previous organizer, and AROKA has selected a new organizer, MESSE ESANG, to enhance the global networking and the solidarity of Army in the world.
Unlike DX KOREA, KADEX will categorize the exhibition items into △Intelligence △Command Control/Communication △Mobility △Firepower △Protection △Support △Aviation △Future Technologies to provide straightforward understand to audiences and form the Army warfare functions. Also, the Korea Army Pavilion (Called as Army Tiger) will be centered in the middle to the exhibition hall to showcase mobility, intelligence, and networking capability.
AROKA also plans to operate a pavilion booth for start-up companies with technology that can innovate weapons systems and power support systems as well as booths for R&D institutes and government agencies. In cooperation with each country, it will operate international booths and outdoor exhibition where people can experience the equipment of the Army.
The quality of the conferences and seminars will be improved by having presentations of the Army Chief of Staff, Chief of Commander of Education, and the Director of branches, rather than focusing on working-level officials. Subjects will be based on not only “How-to-fight” but also organizational culture, welfare, acquisition of beginner cadres, and lack of troops.
Mobility Firepower Demonstration, which is one of the main events in KADEX, will be conducted separately from the current and future forces. Current forces will showcase Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) and future forces will showcase a major aspect of high-tech equipment.
KADEX 2024 will invite official delegations from 50 countries in 2024 compared to 31 countries in last year (2022). As the great leap of international defense expo, KADEX will also invite the defense influencer around the world from youtube to introduce the Mobility Firepower Demonstration, pre-broadcast of KADEX, and live-streaming of KADEX 2024.
AROAK has planned to hold a briefing session for potential exhibitors on 21st October, and attended the 2023 AUSA Annual Meeting on October 7 – 13 to complete next year’s KADEX plan.
AROKA also plans to hold a project briefing session for the Ministry of National Defense and the Army Headquarter in December. Plus, KADEX 2024 briefing session for Seoul Association of Military Attaché was held in November and hosted by AROKA and KDDA (Korea Defense Diplomacy Association) to encourage the Military Attaché from around the world to invite their delegations.
AROKA emphasized that KADEX will be the best platform in Asia market to promote the development of the defense system, and network with global defense industry leaders.
