A mother-of-nine extracted gunpowder from party poppers in a bid to make an explosive device to kill herself, a court heard today.
Former postwoman Erin Foley said she wanted to use the device to die by suicide, Taunton Crown Court heard today.
The court heard that police were tipped off about the chemicals she had at her home and found several tubs of gunpowder she had extracted from the party poppers, as well as ball bearings and various chemicals.
