Established in 1965 ŁUKASIEWICZ Research Network – Industrial Research Institute for Automation and Measurements PIAP is the leading center of robotics, automation, and industrial measurements in Poland. Over 300 employees, divided into interdisciplinary teams, conduct research on new technologies.

The ŁUKASIEWICZ research network is the third largest research network in Europe, consisting of 36 Polish research institutes, including Ł-PIAP. All these Institutes are state-owned and run under control of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

Łukasiewicz – PIAP Institute is the first and largest Polish manufacturer of mobile robots for special applications in army, police, border guards and fire fighters. Robots and robotic devices are used in C-IED operations, surveillance and remote observation, protection of borders and infrastructure, search and rescue missions, crisis management, monitoring and patrolling, detection and CBRN threats analysis.

PIAP’s business activities are based on a wide range of domestic and international contacts with universities, companies, start-ups, research institutes, governmental and administrative institutions and local governments.
