The components of the improvised explosive device (IED) used in the bombing of a chicken restaurant in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat last Wednesday has turned out to be similar to those used in the twin bombings in the same town last year, police said Friday.
This was revealed by P/Brig. Gen. Eliseo Tam Rasco, regional director of the Soccsksargen Police Regional Office (PRO-12), after the post-blast investigation conducted by bomb experts at Carlito’s Chicken Haus in Barangay Kalawag 2, Isulan.
“The bomb experts noticed that the components of the IED [which] exploded in Carlito’s Chicken Haus [were] similar to the ones used in the two bombing incidents in Isulan last year,” Rasco said.
He was referring to the twin bombings in the capital town of Sultan Kudarat, one during a town festival on August 28 and another at an internet cafe on September 2, which resulted in the death of six persons and wounding of 48 others.
